Hyatt Regency Hotel (1971)

After passing through a tunnel-like entrance, a remarkable explosion of space takes place. The vast skylit atrium reaches a height of 170 feed and discloses tiered floors that resemble an inverted Mayan pyramid. Portman first developed the atrium concept in 1967 for the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Atlanta as a means of bringing excitement to large urban hotels
